It has been almost two months since the end of the 2012 Be A Loser With Karin contest. At that time I registered a 29 pound loss. I am happy to say that I have lost another 13 pounds since then.

I have become somewhat of a workout "junkie." I get that "high" that you hear athletes talk about. I never knew what they were talking about before. I always saw working out as a chore to be endured, not as a way of life. I have told some of you, I actually miss working out when I don't do it.

Another important part of being a loser has been my eating. I never really thought I had a problem with eating before. That was until I started recording what I was eating. What an eye opener.  It wasn't just what I was eating that was out of line, but how much of it, too. Way too much.

I have been keeping track of my blood sugar and since I have lost weight, modified my eating and been working out, I have seen a dramatic change in my numbers. Where my fasting blood sugar used to be over 150 consistently, it is now really close to 100 which is great. After I eat, my numbers are 120-150. They used to be close to 300. I am hoping with consistency, I will be able to control my blood sugar with diet alone and get off medication for it.

My next big goal is to loss a total of 50 pounds. I am well on my way. I hope to be able to do it by the end of July, although that may prove to be a bit ambitious.

I workout Monday through Saturday from 4 p.m. until around 5 or 5:30 p.m. I am currently doing P90X. You are welcome to join me at any time. Just contact me at the news office. I look forward to hearing from you if you want to give working out a try. I promise to do a milder workout if you join me at 4 p.m. We also have a lot of different equipment you are welcome to use from weight machines to an ab lounge, an exercise bike and a treadmill.

Until next time, think healthy!
