Perseverance is not giving up. It is persistence and tenacity, the effort required to dosomething and keep doing it till the end, even if it's hard. Perseverance originally comes from the Latin perseverantia and means to abide by something strictly.
Perseverance is the hard work you do after you get tired of doing the hard work you already did. ~Newt Gingrich
I like to think of perseverance as one of those things that you simply must have above all in order to succeed at anything you do. I think perseverance is even more important than motivation. Both are hard, but with perseverance I don't think motivation could survive.
Perseverance is that "stick-to-it-ness" that is required to keep going long after your motivation to do something has waned.
It is hard to persevere in the face of difficulty. We want to give up, we want to quit, but somehow we continue to strive, to struggle, to push through.
For me, perseverance is the key to success. Without it, I will just make excuse after excuse about why I don't want to or shouldn't or whatever!
To do what we know we must do take perseverance. Motivation might add a helping hand, but without perseverance, forget about it!
Perseverance, not excuses, will get you to your goal!
