When my grandma's house was quiet at bedtime there was one sound that prevailed throughout the house--the ticking of her pendulum clock. It was the one sound I could count on to soothe myself to sleep, which I always hoped would happen quickly before her snoring overtook its melody.

Scott Harris, a 1994 Eagle Valley graduate and the son of Donn and Sharon Harris of Eagle Bend, along with two friends from The Actor's Gang (run by Actor Tim Robbins), Cameron Dye and Chris Schultz, critiqued the Eagle Valley One Act Play during a special performance held on Thursday, January 28.

Town hall meetings to be held in upcoming week
To learn more about the Eagle Valley School bond referendum and building project, two more informational town hall meetings will be held at the beginning of February. The referendum vote will take place on March 30. Future meeting dates will be set for March as well.
Town hall dates, times and locations
• Monday, February 1, 6 p.m. in the Early Childhood room at the elementary school in Clarissa. (Video of this meeting is available on the school website--see below).
• Saturday, February 6, 10 a.m. in the ag room at the high school in Eagle Bend.
The meetings will also be broadcast live on the Eagle Valley School’s website at:
www.evps.k12.mn.us.

Funding determined by counts

The first census took place in 1790. It was used to determine the number of seats each state would hold in the U.S. House of Representatives. It was also created to gain a better understanding of where people lived and to establish patterns of settlement as the nation grew.

Representative Mary Ellen Otremba and Senator Bill Ingebrigtsen met with the commissioners during a special work session on January 26.

Closed meeting to evaluate Lundin

After a slight change to the agenda and citing the statute which allows a meeting of the school board to be closed for an employee's evaluation, the board closed the meeting at the request of Principal Mark Lundin whom the board was evaluating.
The meeting was closed for discussion with Lundin present for approximately 43 minutes.
