 It isn't very often that you find two rare animals
harvested in the same year, let alone on the same weekend. More
 Elvin Seward's daughter, Twila, recalls him telling
her that if he passed away, he didn't think anyone would remember
him. He felt that he hadn't done anything "big" in
his lifetime. More
A few weeks ago a legislative
hearing was held in Wadena. Several state representatives were
present and heard testimony from several in the area who reported
bodily side effects caused by the spraying of pesticides near
their homes. More
Jeannette M. Pesta, age 71, of
Clarissa, was injured in a one-vehicle accident on her way home
from Wadena on Highway 71 on Friday, November 9 at 3:54 p.m.

 Katie Smyalla, age 11, is smiling again.
She hasn't had much to smile about in the past week since she
and her family returned home last Saturday, November 3 and found
Katie's beloved Palomino Shetland pony, Savannah, dead and mutilated
in a pasture on their property outside of Long Prairie. More
 Despite the fact that moving any of Highway 27
is not an option due to the Minnesota Department of Transportations
insistence on indemnification from the county, Area Lakes Properties
Developer Dennis Larson is planning to move forward with the
Copper Fields development. More
An incident which occurred about
a year ago in Hartford Township brought a couple of members,
Gene Irsfeld and Alan Perish, from the town board to the commissioner
meeting on November 6 asking the board for assistance. More
