The city government of Hewitt is a Statutory Plan A (population
under 1,000). The governing body is a Mayor-Council type. The council meets one time a month on the second
Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the Hewitt Senior Citizens
Center.
The city derives its power from Minnesota rules and statutes
which can be viewed on the League
of Minnesota Cities website. The city also enforces its own
ordinances.
