Remembering Mother's Day on May 13th with some interesting facts

All of us at one time had or still have a mother.
Mother’s have been with us since the beginning of time, but it wasn’t until 1914 that Anna Jarvis persuaded Congress to designate a special day in honor of mothers. That special day became the second Sunday in May.
Jarvis originally organized observances for mothers in Grafton, West Virginia and Philadelphia on May 10, 1908.

State Highway 227 to
become CSAH 12

Wadena County is waiting for the State Legislature to give the go-ahead for State Highway 227 from Sebeka to Nimrod to be turned back over to the county, according to Wadena County Highway Engineer Ryan Odden.
Odden said when the road is turned over to the county it will be an extension of CSAH 12, which currently meets up with Highway 227 at Nimrod. He said once the state gives the county final authority to take over, the county will update the signs accordingly.

The 10-member Wadena County Courthouse Security Committee has reviewed six options for upgrading the building and is recommending “Option C-1” that includes security for everyone in the building.
