Royston Dague
Funeral services for Royston Avery Dague, 84, will be held on December 22, at 11 a.m. at the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church in Verndale with Pastor David Cotner officiating. Royston passed away on December 17, 2011 at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Wadena.
Royston was born on November 21, 1927 to Lawrence and Eva (Seeley) Dague in Oylen. He served in the U.S. Army from 1946 until his honorable discharge in 1947. Royston was united in marriage with Eunice Idell Erickson on March 10, 1946. He worked at various jobs including farming, driving bulk truck, and selling cars, until becoming the owner and operator of J & R Mattress Factory in Bertha. Orders went to hospitals, nursing homes, resorts and many private homes.
In his spare time he liked to hunt, golf, travel and watch sports.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Eva; son Jeff; and sister Edith White.
He is survived by his loving wife Eunice of Wadena; son Bernard (Dee) of Fargo, North Dakota; daughters Karen Young of Golden Valley, Deb (Dick) Finck of Bertha, Pam (Dave) Fuller of Verndale, Laura (Lawrence) Brown of Wadena and Debbie (Jeff) Dague of Litchfield; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; brothers Russell (Elaine) Dague of Verndale and Jim Dague of Minneapolis; sister Elsie (Dave) Timm of Big Lake; and a host of relatives and friends.
Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Verndale.
Pallbearers are Keith and Chris Dague, Dale Finck, Bobby Cox, Kevin Fuller, Ryan Winters and Elliott Sandberg. |
