All members of the council were present for the Truth in Taxation meeting and the regular meeting which followed on December 3. The regular meeting was 42 minutes in length.
Actions
Approved fire department mutual aid agreements for Todd/Wadena and Kuyuna Range. Fire Chief Doug Turner presented the requests.
Approved two ordinance amendments: Chapter 91 building inspections; Chapter 110 liquor regulations. The council also approved a resolution allowing an administrative penalty for liquor violations.
Approved setting the levy adoption hearing for December 17 at 6:45 p.m.
Discussion Without Action
Discussed the rental property ordinance. The city ordinance being looked at is based on Minnesota statutes. The ordinance will give the city the ability to work with landlords on rental properties which may not be cared for or are substandard. City Administrator Sue Kent will work on a fee schedule for the council to review and approve at a later time along with the ordinance.
Discussed the best placement of the city garage. Council Member Gene Booker will check into some properties.
