Stabbing in Hewitt leads to two arrests and one hospitalization

According to the Todd County Sheriff's Department on Sunday, December 9 at 1:34 a.m. the sheriff's office was notified of a stabbing in the city of Hewitt. Officers learned that an altercation had taken place at the junction of Front Street and Highway 210.
According to the report from the sheriff's department, Jason Thompson, age 30, of Motley was transported by ambulance to the Tri-County Hospital for multiple stab wounds.
The report said that Justin Meech, age 21, of Menahga and Daniel Richardson, age 23, of Montevideo were arrested for the assault.
The Todd County Attorney's Office charged Richardson with two counts of second degree assault and charged Meech with two counts aid-abet second degree assault and fifth degree assault.
Sources close to the family said that Jason was able to get out of the hospital on Thursday, December 13 and is doing fairly well. He was stabbed in the back seven times, one time in the head and one time in the arm by his wrist. The stabbing resulted in fractured ribs and a punctured lung.
According to Chief Deputy Bryan Tebben of the Todd County Sheriff's Department, both men are out on bail.
Agencies assisting the Todd County Sheriff's Department were the Minnesota State Patrol, Wadena County Sheriff's Department and the Wadena Police Department.
