Discussion Without Action -The accountant the city hires for the annual audit said that at this time having an actual audit of the books would not be feasible and that they simply need to work on reconciling the city accounts and ensuring everything has been and is being properly entered. Collom has spent a considerable amount of time working on reconciling the books and accounts. She said that initially there was about a $30,000 discrepancy. She has been able to find most of it and noted a slight discrepancy of $544.80. There is not $5000 missing as was believed at one point. It was simply transferred to cover outstanding checks. |
