Obituary Notices for the Week of November 28, 2007

Kevin Brichacek
Funeral services were held at Zion Lutheran Church for Kevin John Brichacek, 50, of Browerville, on November 24, 2007 with Pastor Nate Loer officiating. Kevin passed away on Wednesday, November 21, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Kevin was born on July 5, 1957 at Browerville to Harry and Bernice (Spychalla) Brichacek. He graduated in 1975 from Browerville High School and was a 1976 graduate of Staples Vocational Tech as a machinist. On May 12, 1979 he married Cindy Anderson of Clarissa. Kevin worked for Gary Stracek Construction of Browerville for several years as a carpenter before becoming employed at RR Donnelley (formerly Banta) in Long Prairie in January 1985, first in the bindery department and then transferring to the machinist department as a first class machinist. Kevin enjoyed hobby farming, camping, fishing, hunting, playing cards, four-wheeling and carpentry.
He is survived by his wife Cindy; one son, Jamie Brichacek of Brainerd; one daughter, Katie (Mike) Leslie of Staples; one granddaughter, Zoey Leslie of Staples; his mother Bernice Brichacek of Browerville; brothers, Stan (Ginger) Brichacek of Browerville, Steve (Patty) Brichacek of Coon Rapids, Wayne (Sue) Brichacek of Andover; sister, Dani (Jerry) Sovich of Clarissa; mother-in-law, Sharon Anderson of Maple Grove; father-in-law, Wayne Anderson of Staples; and numerous aunts and uncles and nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers were his goddaughters: Sarah Anderson, Wendy Brichacek-Isder and Kaylene Kruse.
Pallbearers were: Bill Kavanaugh, Ralph Judd, Jim Becker, Kurt Kruse, Derek Shumski and Troy Lemke.
Internment was at Evergreen Cemetery in Browerville.



Ernest Nussear
Services were held for Ernest L. Nussear, 83, of Hampton, Illinois, at the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center in Moline, Illinois; with the Reverend Steven Loftus officiating. Ernest passed away Monday, November 5, 2007, in Rosewood Care Center, Moline, Illinois.
Ernest Lee Nussear was born March 15, 1924, in Tuscola, Illinois, the son of James Walter and Mammie Lucinda (Grubb) Nussear. He married Betty Jean Douglas in November of 1975, in Hampton, Illinois. She died May 20, 1999.
Ernest worked for Farmall driving tractors off the line for 25 years, retiring in 1985. After retirement, he delivered for Porters in Hampton until 2005.
Mr. Nussear was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hampton. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. He spent every morning at Hardee's on 41st Street in Moline, enjoying biscuits and gravy with his cronies. In the afternoons he would do the same at Porters.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean, and his lady friend, Anna Steffen, who passed away October 25, 2007, and his dog, spot.
Ernest is survived by a step-daughter, Freda Pohlmann of Bluegrass, Iowa; sisters, B. Esther Hess of Eagle Bend and Patricia Feist of Kernersville, North Carolina; a niece, Mara-Leah Coston; and nephews, Thomas and Terry Feist, and Barry, Byron, and Craig Hess, and Judy Polek, of Hampton, Illinois; who was like a daughter to Ernest.
Burial was in Cordova Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Ernest L. Nussear Memorial Fund.


Esther Breese
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 29, 2007 for Esther Rosenberg Breese, age 83, of Wadena, formerly of Bertha, at the Domian-Anderson Funeral Home in Bertha with Pastor Rob Nelson officiating. Esther passed away at Tri-County Hospital in Wadena.
She was born to Edward and Emma (Gaedtke) Rosenberg on March 14, 1924 in Bertha.
Esther was united in marriage to Brooks F. Breese on April 10, 1954 at Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. During her adult life she also lived in Fargo, ND., Los Angeles and San Francisco, CA., Pensacola, FL. and Phoenix, AZ.
As a member of the community for 13 years she enjoyed her church, sporting events, softball, bowling, politics, work, card games, dancing, and crafts.
Esther was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Fred, Albert, Carl and Mickey; sisters, Helen, Martha, Selma, Hildegard, Johanna, Clara, Francis, and Sidonia.
She is survived by her husband; brother, Roland of Las Vegas, NV.; sisters, Marion of Shaker Heights, OH., Barbara of San Pedro, CA., and Ruth of Port Townsend, WA.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Interment will be at the Wadena Cemetery.
