Obituary Notices for the Week of October 31, 2007
Ken Hadley
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November
1, for Kenneth Niles Hadley, age 73, of Parkers Prairie, at First
Evangelical Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie with Rev. Kenneth
Bowman officiating. Kenneth passed away Saturday, October 27,
at St. William's Living Center in Parkers Prairie with his family
by his side.
Ken was born January 9, 1934 to Glen and Lillian (White) Hadley
in Clarissa. He attended school in Eagle Bend. Ken joined the
U.S. Army in 1954 and was honorably discharged in 1956. He was
united in marriage to Janet Krause on April 11, 1959 at Immanuel
Lutheran Church in Eagle Bend. Following their marriage they
lived in Blaine, where Ken worked for the Pako Corporation. In
1969, they moved to Miltona where he farmed for three years.
In 1972, the family moved to Parkers Prairie where he lived the
remainder of his life. He worked in maintenance for the Parkers
Prairie High School and Hospital, the New York Mills Nursing
Home, Pilgrim Point Bible Camp and as a currier for Metpath.
He was a member of the Parkers Prairie American Legion Post #219,
First Evangelical Lutheran Church and Parkers Prairie Lions Club.
He was a big supporter of the Parkers Prairie American Legion
Baseball Team, a former manager of the Miltona Tigers Baseball
Team and volunteer on the Parkers Prairie Ambulance. Ken enjoyed
having coffee with his buddies uptown, hunting, baseball, watching
birds from his back porch, joking with his grandchildren and
spending time with his family and friends.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Larry and
Truman and an infant sister, Patricia.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jan, whom he loving
called, "My girlfriend"; two sons, Greg (Denise) Hadley
of New London and Scott (Deb) Hadley of Sleepy Eye; four sisters,
Meurriel Willie of Fergus Falls, Donna Hemming of Cushing, Alice
Lee of Fergus Falls and Gaynell (Al) Ratajesak of Parkers Prairie;
three brothers, Bill (Elaine) Hadley of Elk River, Jerry (Shirley)
Hadley of Baldwin, Wisconsin and Curt (Pam) Hadley of St. Cloud;
8 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Hadley, A.J. Hadley, Andy Hadley,
Austen Hadley, Tyler Hadley and Jacob Malone. Honorary pallbearers
will be Jessica Malone, Ahnalee Hadley, Kaylie Hogue and Jess
Hadley.
Burial will take place at the Swedish Lutheran Cemetery.
Helen Anderson
Helen Anderson, age 92, of Hewitt, passed away at the Fair Oaks
Lodge in Wadena on Sunday, October 28, 2007. Funeral services
will be held on Thursday, November 1 at 2 p.m. at the Domian-Anderson
Funeral Home in Bertha. Friends may call at the funeral home
on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. and again on Thursday from 12:30 p.m.
until the time of services. Full obituary in next week's paper

Donald Notch
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on October 29 for Donald
Notch, 71, of Browerville, with Father David Maciej officiating.
Don passed away on October 24, 2007, at his residence after a
long courageous battle with leukemia.
Don was born on April 26, 1936 in Oak Township, Stearns County
to Alphonse and Clara (Tabatt) Notch. He graduated from Eagle
Bend High School in 1954 and joined the US Navy from 1954 to
1959 when he was honorably discharged. Don worked at Mobil in
Long Prairie for 15 years, farmed in rural Browerville since
1965 and was a rural mail carrier from 1981 until his retirement
in 2002. Don raised 7 children on the farm in Browerville.
He was a member of Christ the King Church in Browerville.
Don was preceded in death by his parents.
Don is survived by his special friend Myra Peterson, children:
Barbara (Harold) Lillquist of Sebeka, Margaret (Scott) Muntifering
of St. Cloud, Kathryn (Mark) Gilson of Osakis, Patricia (Pat)
Betsinger of Browerville, Michelle (Rak) Tray of St. Joseph,
Donald Notch Jr. of Osakis, Jacqueline (Darin) Hukriede of Grey
Eagle, 15 grandchildren, 9 siblings: Albert (Marlys) Notch of
Eagle Bend, Herbert Notch of Des Moines, Iowa; Ralph (Janice)
Notch of Eagle Bend, Richard (Donna) of Big Lake, Doris (Ed)
Pachan of Eagle Bend, Doreen (Lawrence) Lenk of Hoyt Lakes, Bernice
(Ed) Polak of Browerville, Mary Alice (Vince) Lenk of Forest
Lake and Alvin (Diane) Notch of Eagle Bend.
Casket Bearers were Harold Lillquist, Scott Muntifering, Mark
Gilson, Pat Betsinger, Rak Tray and Darin Hukriede.
Interment was at Christ the King Cemetery in Browerville.
