Stop the press! Something crazy has happened at the news office! Carolynne
has nearly stopped bringing in her scrumptious cookies. It has become a
custom that she bakes them nearly every morning and places them on the table
when she breezes into work for the day. We all drool over them and have come
to expect them to be there when our tummies get to a-growliní. I donít think
that Iím the only one yearning for one of her sugar or oatmeal raisin
cookies.
Since the Be A Loser With Karin campaign began a few weeks ago, we are all
focusing on eating less, healthier and watching what Karin eats (You can bet
she loves that!). Carolynne loves to bake. She says that it relaxes her to
pop a batch of cookies in the oven each morning. So, Iím watching her closely
to make sure her stress is still being relieved in some way. Because you know
what? She brought in Rice Krispie bars last week and today (with one sugar
cookie on the side. Shhhh! She said I could have it). Of course we all
appreciate anything she brings in to spoil us with, but I still miss those
mouth watering cookie morsels. The bars are lower in fat I would imagine than
the cookies are, so we were all appreciating that fact. Well, sort of.
Although none of us at the office can win the big prizes that are being given
away through the contest, many are taking part for the camaraderie and
accountability of losing pounds together.
Oh, yeah, our family discovered the perfect way to drop pounds fast last
week. Just capture the bug that is making the rounds. Iím not referring to
the spring bugs that were described on last weekís front page, Iím talking
about the ìfluî bug thatís nipping people in the butt! First our baby came
down with the flu. And, of course, no one can resist kissing on him. So
guess what? One by one in varying extremes, we all came down with it.
Usually some of us will avoid it, but not this time. It picked on all of us,
even grandma and grandpa (They canít resist kissing on the baby either).
Someone said that they lost eight pounds from having it. Though not a healthy
way to lose and not a way anyone would wish to do it, it is a successful way
to shed pounds quickly. I wish everyone luck that is taking part in the
contest, and honestly, you donít want this nasty flu to aide in your quest for
losing weight.
Now, where is that cookie Carolynne promised me?
