You've probably heard it said that the only person who likes change is a wet baby.
Well, we are hoping that you are open to other changes, too, including the changes we're making to the online version of our newspaper.
Change can be a good thing, and the staff at the Independent News Herald thinks you will be interested and maybe even a little excited about some of the improvements we are making.
The first change is one that you may have already noticed. That is the addition of some video coverage of a few of the events and games that we attend and at which we take photographs.
We are excited about this addition to our site and hope that you will like it, too.
As our personal skills and equipment improve, you can expect to see more high quality video.
Part of the impetus for adding video to our website was because it would allow us to be more interactive with you, our readers.
We also hope that this addition will enhance your experience of our website.
This addition also gives us the opportunity to be more like a "daily" newspaper as we can add video to our site at any time.
Another important feature we have changed is that we convert our front page and other pages like the sports pages into a PDF, portable document format, so you can actually see what select portions of that week's newspaper look like.
Making a PDF saves significant time and, we believe, gives you a better overall product.
Another feature we are adding this week is the ability to comment on blogs that we post.
Blogs or web logs will give all of us a chance to interact more immediately.
We feel that this open forum will give more people the opportunity to voice their opinion.
It will also give those who don't feel comfortable speaking up at meetings a chance to say what they think about certain issues.
We hope you will like the updates and enhancements we are adding to our website.
It is all about community connectivity.
It is about you and our commitment to bringing you the most accurate, up-to-date news and information that we are able to.

I just want to say I am excited about the changes you are making. I live in south carolina and this has kept me up on all the home town happenings. I have family in sports too, so being able to see the sport pages will excite me. I also would not mind seeing the birth announcements and engagements. Amy
