Wednesday, January 16, 2008 Broncos improve their record to 7-3 by Coach Andy Lancaster The Broncos wrestling team improved their record to 7 wins and 3 losses by recording 2 wins and 1 loss for the week. On Tuesday, the wrestlers hosted Ottertail Central in Eagle Bend and came away with a 45-24 victory. Winning for the Broncos were Travis Borchert, Randy Shamp, Julius Stone, Tyler Spychalla, Mitch Schumann, Kayne Mueller, Brian Denny, Keith Pudwill and Justin Bollin. On Thursday, the Broncos traveled to New York Mills to dual Breckenridge/Cambell-Tintah and New York Mills. In the first dual the Broncos won a decisive 50-15 decision. Winning for the Broncos were Preston Irsfeld, Randy Shamp, Julius Stone, Tyler Spychalla, Brad Schettler, Brian Denny, Justin Bollin, Nate Becker, Lucas Maschler and Chris Minor. In the second dual, the Broncos lost a heartbreaker to New York Mills by the score of 33-37. Even though each team won 7 matches apiece the Broncos were not able to get pins when needed and could not hold off a late charge by the Eagles. Winning for the Broncos were Travis Borchert, Randy Shamp, Julius Stone, Tyler Spychalla, Brian Denny, Keith Pudwill and Justin Bollin. On Tuesday, the Broncos will be in Browerville for a dual with Pequot Lakes/Pine River-Backus. The junior varsity will start at 6 p.m. On Friday, the Broncos will travel to Osakis for an eight team dual tournament starting at 4 p.m.
