January 2, 2008 Obituary Notices for the Week of January 2, 2008 Dorothy Seifert Funeral services for Dorothy Seifert, 87, of Clarissa, were held on Saturday, December 29, 2007, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Clarissa with Fr. David Maciej officiating. Dorothy passed away on December 25, at the Central Todd County Care Center. Dorothy was born on May 10, 1920, in Freeport, to Frank and Lucy (Spangler) Zinniel. She was raised in Melrose and graduated from the Melrose High School. After graduation, Dorothy attended 2 years of teacher's college in St. Cloud and later taught country school South of Richmond. Dorothy married Leander Seifert on September 18, 1944 in Melrose at St. Boniface Catholic Church. After their marriage Dorothy helped Leander on the farm while raising their family. They lived in Monticello for 10 years before moving to the Browerville area in 1960. Dorothy is a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Clarissa and the Christian Mothers. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, son Tom, daughter-in-law, Patty Seifert; brother, Norbert Zinniel; sisters: Madeline Schmidt, Alice Otto and granddaughter Amanda Seifert. Dorothy is survived by her husband Leander of Clarissa; children Karen (Rudy) May of Browerville; Mark (Lorise) Seifert of Eagle Bend; Ruth Flaspeter of Floral City, Florida; John (Wanda) Seifert of Browerville; Leo (Joey) Seifert of Livonia, Michigan and Andy Seifert of Clarissa; sisters Helen Muzzy of Flossmoor, Illinois; LaNita Anderson of Melrose, Florence Bushaw of Sauk Centre; 16 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. Casket Bearers were Tom May, David May, Kelley Seifert, Matthew Seifert, Jesse Seifert and Eric Seifert. The Cross Bearer was Marie Seifert. Interment was held at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Clarissa. Lorraine Ludowese The Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, December 27, 2007, for Lorraine Lucille Ludowese, age, 63, of Aldrich, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples, with Father Peter Kirchner officiating. Lorraine passed away on December 21 at Lakewood Health Systems in Staples. Lorraine was born to Ernest and Evelyn (Stark) Manske on February 18, 1944, in Thiel Hospital in Bertha. She was united in marriage with Barry W. Ludowese, December 17, 1966 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples. Lorraine enjoyed and loved the people she worked with as a sewing operator for 38 years in Staples and at ConAgra Foods in Motley for 5 years. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, 4-wheeling, being with her family, children, grandchildren, and husband, especially sitting on the deck visiting with them. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; nephew, Jon Johnson; and niece, Melodie Manske. She is survived by her husband; daughters, Stacie (Merle) Swecker, and Cassie (Shawn) Macheel; grandchildren, Tessa and Morgan Swecker, and Samantha and Zachary Macheel; brother, Bill (Chris) Manske of Lacanto Florida; sister, Janet (Rodney) Johnson of Staples; and many nieces, nephews, and loved ones. Honorary pallbearers were Tessa and Morgan Swecker, Samantha and Zachary Macheel, and Britney and Evan Bern. Active pallbearers were Stacie and Merle Swecker, Cassie and Shawn Macheel, Darwin Johnson, Cindy and Gary Bern, and Diane and Craig Jasmer. Interment was at Greenlawn Cemetery in Verndale. Jack Standfield Jack Standfield of Bertha and formerly of Champlin, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 21, 2007 at the Tri-County Hospital in Wadena. He was 76 years old. Jack Keith Standfield was born on September 5, 1931 at Warroad, to Charles and Alice (Jasmer) Standfield. He was united in marriage to Florence E. (Peterson) Hein on September 21, 1974 in South Dakota. Jack retired from the Milwaukee Railroad and also worked in the asphalt industry and as a bartender. He was a member of the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, reading, especially western novels, dancing and he loved his wife and family. Jack was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Alice; son Duane; and brothers Bert, Donald and Oliver. He is survived by his wife Florence; sons Craig (Carol) of Mounds View, Randy (Tammy) of Mounds View and Kevin of Mounds View; daughters Kathy (Don) of Naswauk and Donette (Rick) of Circle Pines; daughter-in-law Laura of Ham Lake; step-children Rodney Hein of Mound, Timothy Hein of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin and Robin (Jim) of Hewitt; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; sisters Dorothy (Bill) of Oregon and Marie (Boyd) of Hawaii; and sisters-in-law Laverne of Portland, Oregon and Myrtle of Bend, Oregon. Honorary pallbearers were Kiefer Good, Steve McGee, Tony Koons, Benjamin Standfield, Shane Ludovissie and Zachary Ludovissie. |
