January 30, 2008 Perish named Minnesota Recorder of the Year
Todd County Recorder Cheryl Perish was named Minnesota's Outstanding Recorder of the Year during the Minnesota Association of County Officers (MACO) Winter Convention held January 15-18, 2008. This is the highest honor a County Recorder can receive from MACO and is presented annually in recognition of distinguished service to community, county, the Minnesota Association of County Recorders (MCRA) and MACO. First elected in 1986 as Todd County Recorder, Cheryl has served on numerous committees and task force groups of both associations, contributed to developing legislative proposals on behalf of MCRA and MACO and has testified in the Minnesota Legislature on behalf of her organizations. Through her involvement, she has become known for her willingness to give of her time and work with and help others in a pleasant, kind, and caring way. In her spare time she enjoys deer hunting, fishing, riding 4-wheeler and spending time with her family and friends. She is a certified County Recorder, Registrar of Titles, Local Registrar of Vital Statistics, Federal Passport Agent and manages the Todd County Drivers License Bureau. Cheryl is married to Gary Perish of Browerville. They have two sons, Frank and Bo. MACO is comprised of recorders, auditors, treasurers, auditor/treasurers and finance officers from all of Minnesota's 87 counties. Its members are committed to cooperative efforts within county government, respectful treatment of all and service to the citizens of the county and the state. |
