Todd County Board of Commissioners

New year begins with short meeting
by Karin L. Nauber

The passing of the torch, or in this case, the gavel. Former Chairman of the Board Mark Blessing handed over the chair seat to Commissioner Randy Neumann during their January 3 meeting.

The first meeting of the new year for the commissioners was short-approximately 45 minutes.
The first order of business was to elect the new chair and vice chair. Randy Neumann was nominated and elected chair. Mark Nelson was nominated and elected vice chair. Both were by unanimous votes.
The next item was from the Community Correction Department. Department Administrator Katherine Langer presented two resolutions to appoint commissioners to the executive committee and to the community corrections advisory board. The board approved commissioners Blessing and Nelson for those committees.
Further, the board approved a resolution authorizing submission of the grant application for the youth intervention program, specifically the Todd and Wadena Community Concern for Youth program. The resolution also authorized Todd County to act as a fiscal agent for the projects.
