Eagle Valley principal asked to resign
by Karin L. Nauber

Deanna Mattson-Millar

Eagle Valley Principal Deanna Mattson-Millar has been asked by the school board to resign at the end of the school year.
Millar was unofficially asked at a negotiations committee meeting on Tuesday, March 4 to resign.
Millar said she felt "sad" about the board's decision.
"I was hoping that I was contributing to the community and to the education of the students," she said.
Millar said she did not have any information yet as to why the board was asking her to resign.
"I am not tenured so they don't have to give me a reason. Mr. Twitchell said he will give me a written list of concerns after it is official through the school board," she said.
Stephen Twitchell is the superintendent of the Eagle Valley district.
"I would have liked to have been given a bit more time-three to five years-to get to know people and the community," said Millar.
June 30 will be her last day at the district.
The board officially asked Millar to resign during their regular board meeting on Monday, March 10.
