by Karin L. Nauber

Kyle Klein, 20 years old, son of Russell and Sheila Klein of Clarissa, was injured in an ATV accident near the Al Moen farm located on 215th Avenue in Clarissa on Monday, May 5.

The ATV rolled end over end after hitting an approach. According to Russell, Kyle told him that a car was coming on the road, so they went down in the ditch with the ATV. They hit the approach and nose dived.

"Kyle went head first and the ATV went over on top of him and his passenger Mitch Brown came down on that," said Russell.

Mitch was not injured in the accident.

Kyle was transported to the Long Prairie Hospital and then to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment. Russell said that Kyle herniated the second disk in his neck and also herniated two disks in his back.

Kyle can move his arms and can walk, but will have to be in a neck and upper body cast for six weeks to three months.

Kyle was able to come home on Friday, May 9.

Kyle helps his parents operate their 600 acre dairy farm.
