Wednesday, May 14, 2008 Lundin offered principal position at Eagle Valley by Karin L. Nauber The
early childhood room at the Eagle Valley Elementary School was packed with
approximately 60 people at the second interview of Mark Lundin in front of
the board on Tuesday, May 6. The other candidate, Brenda Blackmore, had
withdrawn her application, according to the board.After the interview, the board discussed concerns they had about Lundin taking the position. After their discussion, they voted in favor of offering the position of principal to Lundin, who is currently a special education teacher at the high school. Board Member Jay Eckel was opposed. Elementary Dean of Students Duane Motzko was also allowed to take part in the vote. The board discussed and agreed to a one year probation period for Lundin who is tenured as a teacher at Eagle Valley. At the Monday, May 12 board meeting, the board approved a 218 day principalís contract for Lundin at a salary of $75,000 with an additional payment of $500 per month to go towards a health insurance plan. This is pending a background check.
