Carol Thelen

A mass was held on Monday, December 28, 2009, for Carol Marie Thelen, 72, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, followed by interment in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
Carol, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away on December 20, in San Antonio, Texas.
She was born August 29, 1937, in Hutchinson to the late Ruben and Martha Maag. Carol was raised on a dairy farm and all she learned from her parents helped her to unselfishly and successfully raise 5 sons.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Marjorie Brever.
Carol is lovingly survived by her husband, Earl Thelen; sons, Stephen L. (Gina), Keith J. (Janet), Gary D. (Anne), Nicholas P. (Felicia), Scott A. (Janine); grandchildren, Kyle, Christy, Mary, Carolyn, Ryan, Tristan, Lucas and Zoe Thelen; sister, Jeane Hesser.

Sheila Pinney

Sheila (Seila) Christine Pinney, 87, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2009 at Prairie Senior Cottages in Alexandria.
She was born on October 14, 1922 in Tansem Township, the daughter of the late John and Oline Gustavson and the wife of Frank H. Pinney.
Sheila was preceded in death by her husband Frank and four sisters, Luella of Fargo, North Dakota; Gladys, Amy, and Clara, all of Seattle, Washington.
She is survived by her sister Betty Elsemore of Maple Valley, Washington. She is also survived by her son, Franklyn (Jack) Pinney; five daughters; Sheila Lacher of Trophy Club, Texas; Linda (Mark) Foley of Stamford, Connecticut; June (Archer) Martin of Eagle Bend, Elizabeth (Allan) Nagy of Lutz, FL, Robin (Glenn) Brogan of Greenwich, Connecticut; as well as 3 grandsons and 6 granddaughters.

Emma "Fern" Greiner

The funeral service for Emma Fern Greiner of Wrightstown (rural Hewitt) was held on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at the Domian-Anderson Funeral Home in Bertha with Reverend Johannes Marsland presiding. She passed away at the age of 86 years on Monday, December 28, 2009 at the Tri-County Hospital in Wadena.
Fern was born on April 7, 1923 to Raymond and Gladys (Booen) Thompson at Parkers Prairie. She was united in marriage with Leonard Zuehlke on November 24, 1941. They had four children. Leonard passed away on March 8, 1976. On January 1, 1977, she married Eldon Greiner. Eldon passed away on December 13, 1983.
Fern was a housewife and mother and also worked at Club Miltona. She enjoyed flowers and gardening, dancing, fishing, crocheting, visiting with friends and going to auction sales.
Fern was preceded in death by her husbands Leonard in 1976 and Eldon in 1983; parents Ray and Gladys; son Duane Zuehlke; brothers Dale Thompson, Marvin Thompson, Gerald Thompson and Clyde Thompson; one grandson and one great-granddaughter; and longtime companion Ralph Simon.
She is survived by her sons Donald (Rose) Zuehlke of Parkers Prairie and Marlin Zuehlke of St. Cloud; daughter Beverly (Gary) Mrnak of Miltona; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many special friends.
Honorary pallbearers were Pat Shultz, Audrey Clementson, Betty Gabler, Bernice Keeling, Glenice Buschke, Florence Zweig and all of Fern’Äôs grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Alicia Zuehlke, Tim Zuehlke, Dean Zuehlke, Janene Mogler, Jodie Baumann and Todd Mrnak.
Interment was in the Woodside Cemetery at Wrightstown.
