Dorothy Berry
Funeral services for Dorothy Ann Berry, 94, were held on Friday, December 16 at the Verndale Christian and Missionary Alliance Church with Pastors David Cotner and Phil Schrauben officiating. Dorothy went home to be with her Lord, on Monday, December 12, 2011 at Fair Oaks Lodge in Wadena.
Dorothy was born on August 25, 1917 in Boon Lake Township, Renville County, to Frank and Emelie (Walters) Bradford. She attended District 25 country school, then graduated from Buffalo Lake High School in 1934.
On November 25, 1937 she married Sylvan Klucas in Hector. They, and their four children, lived and farmed in this area and later the Eagle Bend and Bertha area.
Dorothy married Donald Berry on September 18, 1977 in Lester Prairie. They built a home in Wadena, where Dorothy resided until three years ago. She was involved for many years in the Christian Women’s Club in Wadena and Friendship Bible Coffee’s and the Buzzin’ Dozen Homemaker’s Club.
Dorothy enjoyed horses, collecting rocks, traveling, hunting, playing dominoes and other games with friends, and most of all, being with her family.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; infant twin sister, Donna May; first husband Sylvan; second husband Donald; two sisters, Ruth Noble and Annabel Reid; brother Harold Bradford; and two infant grandchildren.
She is survived by her four children, Muriel (Dale) Nelson of Motley, Robert (Valera) Klucas of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Shirley (Con) VanBatavia of Verndale and Lois (Melvin) Johnson of Browerville; stepdaughter Donna (Richard) Buzicky of Mahomet, Illinois; brother William (Shirley) Bradford of Buffalo Lake; 12 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren; three step-grandsons and several step- grandchildren.
Burial was in Wadena Cemetery.
Linda Kruesel
A Celebration of Life for Linda M. Kruesel, 67, longtime owner of the Corner Bar in Waterville, will be held on Linda’s birthday on Friday, December 23, from 4-8 p.m. at the Gilligan’s Restaurant (700 Paquin St. E.) in Waterville. Linda passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at the Mayo Clinic Health System – Mankato after recently being diagnosed with cancer.
Linda Mae Salentini, the daughter of Joseph and Mildred (Gengler) Salentini, was born on December 23, 1943 in Remsen, Iowa. After graduating as valedictorian of her high school class of 1961 in Clarissa, she moved to Minneapolis. Linda worked in the investment department of Northwestern National Bank and as an Executive Assistant to Tad Piper and Glenn Perkins at Piper, Jaffray and Company in Minneapolis.
On October 10, 1970, Linda was united in marriage to Roger Kruesel. In 1979, Linda and Roger became owners of the Corner Bar in Waterville. She later worked in conciliation court in Hennepin and Waseca Counties, later retiring in 2008.
Linda believed life should be filled with love, laughter and good times. She enjoyed socializing, listening to music, reading, cooking and spending time with her family, including her “adopted children.” She was caring, wise and loved by many.
She is survived by her daughter, Tanya Kruesel of Waterville; her former husband Roger (Jeanne Brown) Kruesel of Faribault; sisters Carol (Gordon) Decker of Minneapolis and Diane (Norm) Olson of Bloomington; sister-in-law, Darlene Salentine of Chaska and by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Paul Salentine and by her sister Marian Ludwig.

Royston Dague
Funeral services for Ro-yston Avery Dague, 84, will be held on December 22, at 11 a.m. at the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church in Verndale with Pastor David Cotner officiating. Royston passed away on December 17, 2011 at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Wadena.
Royston was born on November 21, 1927 to Lawrence and Eva (Seeley) Dague in Oylen. He served in the U.S. Army from 1946 until his honorable discharge in 1947. Royston was united in marriage with Eunice Idell Erickson on March 10, 1946. He worked at various jobs including farming, driving bulk truck, and selling cars, until becoming the owner and operator of J & R Mattress Factory in Bertha. Orders went to hospitals, nursing homes, resorts and many private homes.
In his spare time he liked to hunt, golf, travel and watch sports.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Eva; son Jeff; and sister Edith White.
He is survived by his loving wife Eunice of Wadena; son Bernard (Dee) of Fargo, North Dakota; daughters Karen Young of Golden Valley, Deb (Dick) Finck of Bertha, Pam (Dave) Fuller of Verndale, Laura (Lawrence) Brown of Wadena and Debbie (Jeff) Dague of Litchfield; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; brothers Russell (Elaine) Dague of Verndale and Jim Dague of Minneapolis; sister Elsie (Dave) Timm of Big Lake; and a host of relatives and friends.
Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Verndale.
Pallbearers are Keith and Chris Dague, Dale Finck, Bobby Cox, Kevin Fuller, Ryan Winters and Elliott Sandberg.
Ann Marie Shaw-Dobs
Funeral services for Ann Marie (McKellop) Shaw-Dobs, 77, of Bertha will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 21, at the Wrightstown United Methodist Church with Pastor Shirley Nelson presiding. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Domian-Anderson Funeral Home in Bertha and from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the church. Ann passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2011 at the Central Todd County Care Center in Clarissa.
Ann was born on July 8, 1934 at the Thiel Hospital in Bertha to Adnah and Elsie (Rasmussen) McKellop. She graduated from Parkers Prairie High School and was united in marriage with Guy Shaw at St. Paul’s Lutheran Parsonage in Bertha on June 14, 1952. They were blessed with five children and operated a farm at Woodside Township. Guy passed away on November 4, 1978.
On April 11, 1981, she married friend and local farmer, Reinhold “Tiny” Dobs. Together they moved into their home in Bertha in 1995. Reinhold passed away on April 6, 2009.
Ann was a homemaker and was active with TOPS in Bertha and worked as a foster grandparent at the Bertha-Hewitt Elementary School. She spent her entire life in the Bertha area and kept busy knitting, quilting, working puzzles, playing cards with friends and attending dance socials. She spent time outdoors tending her garden and chickens as well as picking strawberries. She sold pickles in Hewitt and she enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren.
Ann was preceded in death by her husbands Guy Shaw and Reinhold Dobs; parents Adnah and Elsie; son Thomas; and sister Zelda Windheim.
She is survived by her son Daniel (Cindy) Shaw of Parkers Prairie; daughters Patty (Dale) Camacho of Hewitt, Linda (Curt) Johnson of Eagle Bend and Maggie (Neil) Zimmer of Clarissa; daughter-in-law Gwen Shaw of Parkers Prairie; 22 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; and sister Jackie Dittberner of Parkers Prairie.
Honorary pallbearers are Ann’s grandchildren. Pallbearers are Kyle and Kevin Camacho, Cyrus and Guy Shaw, Trenton and Casey Johnson, Neil Zimmer Jr. and Urban Shaw.
Interment will be in the Woodside Cemetery, Wrightstown.

Memorial services for Patty Horn, age 74, of Hewitt, will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 23, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bertha with Pastor Blake Rickbeil Presiding.
