“I pledge my Head to clearer thinking, my Heart to greater loyalty, my Hands to larger service, my Health to better living, for my club, my community, my country and my world.”

Head, Heart, Hands and Health is the basis of 4-H. National 4-H week was October 7-14.

4-Hers are over twice as likely to be more physically active, twice as likely to plan to go to college and over three times more likely to contribute to their communities.

The 4-Corners 4-H Club, named for the Wadena, Cass, Todd and Morrison counties that come together in the Staples area, is based out of Aldrich and is a relativity new club operated by Kylene and Darin Lehmann of Staples.

The Lehmann family joined a local 4-H club when their son Otto was in first grade. He is now in sixth grade. The group they were in essentially dissolved and the last four years the Lehmanns have been leading the 4-Corners group.

They have members from Staples, Wadena, Aldrich, Verndale and surrounding areas which include six families, including their own four children, Otto (sixth grade), Sena (fourth grade), and two future members, Hank and Tryg (pre-k and first grade). . . .
