The members of the First Congregational United Church of Christ will be closing their doors after 115 years in service.
“We knew it was coming,” said Donna Waldahl, long-time attendee and the church’s secretary, treasurer, vicker and whatever may need to be done.
Waldahl cited that the church’s congregation is aging and no new members have joined the church.
“There’s less and less people each week,” said Waldahl. “Until there was three of us.”
“We are going to have one last service on Christmas Eve then close the doors,” she added.
She said the church may be available for weddings, funerals or special events, but that is uncertain. . . .
