April snowstorm sets records

     According to the National Weather Service the 14.9 inches of snow that fell on Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport between Friday and Sunday evening set a record for largest April snowstorm in the Twin Cities.

    The prior record was set back in 1983, when 13.6 inches of snow fell in the metro.

    This is the snowiest April on record, with a total of 26 inches. Also the 10th snowiest winter ever. They have recorded 78.2 inches this winter in the Twin Cities.

    The 1991 Halloween storm, which brought a total of 28.4 inches was the largest snowstorm. This past weekend tallied the 12th biggest snowfall in the Twin Cities.
