Your weight taking a toll? Make a goal...

Win big money in "Be a Loser Contest to start February 15

Don’t you just hate those weight loss commercials that promise you will lose “X” amount of pounds in “X” amount of time if you just follow their “simple, yet affordable” system?

Or, even worse (in my humble opinion) those commercials where you can have your “problem areas” removed through some not-quite surgical procedure?

The problem with these systems and programs is the same—they do not teach you how to lose weight and then maintain that weight loss.

While our contest isn’t specifically designed to teach you how to lose weight or keep it off, we do—through the resources we provide in the articles and advertisements—give you the tools to help you succeed, not only during our contest, but also in the months and years afterwards.

But just because you have the tools doesn’t mean you will use them.

While I have not ever gained back all of the weight that I have lost since we began Be A Loser With Karin, I still am not at the weight I want to be.

I can’t remember who I was talking to the other day, but we were joking that over the course of weight loss their spouse would say she had lost 4000 pounds! Then add that she had gained back 4005!

I can relate to that and I know that many of you can, as well.

As hard as weight loss is, having the incentive of earning some money for your efforts is helpful. That is why we do the contest and offer some very nice cash prizes for our winners.

It is also our chance to connect fully with our readers and the community because so many of us are in the same boat.

I have been giving this a lot of thought and I have decided that I am going to offer a class this year to help “coach” you on some weight loss ideas.

I have been reading a wonderful book written by Pete Thomas—he was one of the contestants on season 2 of The Biggest Loser—and intend to use some of the information from the book to help us find strategies to lose the weight for good.

Participation in the class is NOT mandatory, but if you want to have support and advice, I recommend you come to the classes—time and place to be determined.

I will also be continuing my blog where you can get extra information and encouragement through the course of the contest.

While the blog will be available to everyone, you must be signed up for Be A Loser With Karin to enjoy the classes.

Our sign up and initial weigh-in are on Thursday, February 15  from 4:30 -5:45 p.m. at the Shepherd of the Valley Church in Clarissa so keep your calendar open for that day.

The cost for our contest is $30 and this includes a free T-shirt and a three month subscription to the Independent News Herald.

Weight loss percentage is calculated to determine the winners.

There are four mandatory weigh-in dates which include the initial date and the final weigh-in on Thursday, May 10 where our winners will be determined.

Watch the Independent News Herald and our website at: www.inhnews.com for updates and more information.

If you have never joined our contest before, now is the year to do so. I think it is going to be a great time this year!
