It's not what you know, but who you know: Browerville gets shout-out from Tom Brady

There are a lot of things we don’t know—like who will win the 2018 Super Bowl #52. But we do know that at least one Browerville family will be rooting for the New England Patriots. And for good reason, too.

The Johnson family of Browerville know someone who plays for the Patriots—knows him pretty well, too.

Tom Brady’s mom, Galynn, is from Browerville and “Tommy” spent many summers in the area while he growing up.

Galynn is the sister of Gary Johnson.

Brady’s ties to the area don’t end there. He is also the grandson of the late Gordy and Bernice Johnson of Clarissa.

Brady has risen far above the expectations of many. When he started out his football career, he was called, “too skinny, too slow and too pretty,” to be a professional quarterback numerous times.

Paul’s dad, Gary and his mom Diane are die-hard Patriots fans, too, and for many years they have helped with pot luck meals and get togethers in Paul’s man cave.

“For the first four years, we went out to Grandpa [Gordon’s] farm and watched the games. Then the last 14 years we have been here. When Grandpa was alive, we picked him up and brought him out to watch the games with us,” said Paul...
