For 22 years the Live Nativity has been held in Bertha that was organized by Sandy Foreman and Jeanette Scott to keep Christ in Christmas.

The Live Nativity was held at the Bertha Community Center on November 25. It was announced that this was the last nativity that Scott, 91, would be assisting with.

She is happy to see the Bertha area churches come together year after year for this event and help keep it going.

"Every year it gets better. The kids are great. The best thing is we can all work together," shared Scott.

Pastor Dave Seaton from the Faith United Church of Christ shared the story of the birth of Christ with Christmas Carols sung in between passages. As the different songs were sang, members of the nativity made up of members of the area churches walked up to the front.

Songs were sang by a choir made up of Methodist, Faith United members as well as the visitors. Songs included O Little Town of Bethlehem, We three Kings, Joy to the World and more.

The service concluded with coffee, cider, cookies and conversation.

The nativity included Michael, Elizabeth and baby Edith Quance as Joseph, Mary and baby Jesus. The shepherds included brothers Logan and Jordan Christenson, the three wise men were Father Mitchell Bechtold, Leo Haismen and Matt Blashack and the angels were Ayden and Chloe Garrison.
