Former River Inn gets new life as apartments and storage

by Trinity Gruenberg

A long standing fixture in Aldrich, the River Inn, is undergoing a transformation by new owner Roger Heidelberger of Merrifield. The former supper club is now RLH Enterprises apartments and storage.

“Everyone keeps asking me ‘what are you doing?’” said Heidelberger.

A year ago, long time friend of 30 years George Lorenz, and former owner of the River Inn, was in a pinch and the property was going up for tax forfeit.

Heidelberger paid a hefty sum, $30,000, in back taxes to prevent the property from forfeiture and Lorenz gave him the property for $1000.
