More than 50 students in the Freshwater Education District will start the new school year with a new facility.

“Hooray, hooray today is our day. I can’t believe it’s only been 13 months since I first spoke those words at the groundbreaking ceremony. Amazing things have happened in that short time,” said Lori Murdock, director of special education.

Executive Director of Freshwater Education District Jerry Nesland, Director of Regional Programs for Sourcewell Paul Drange, Teacher  Lisa Perkins and Murdock cut the ceremonial ribbon at the doors of the new facility, dedicated for White Pine, Leaf River and Elm Tree academies along with the Freshwater District offices.

The public got its first glimpse of the 32,000 square-foot building at an open house and ribbon cutting celebration on Tuesday, August 27. . . .
