“At the Wadena County Humane Society we have rescue partners in Texas directly in the path of Harvey. They are working overtime to help not only their own families and friends, but also the animals stranded, abandoned, stuck in shelters, and at risk of going to kill-shelters,” said Manager Emma Davenport.

    What you can do even here in rural Minnesota to help Harvey victims:

    • Offer to foster a dog. Send an email to wadenacountyhumanesociety@gmail.con with your contact information and current situation (e.g. cats, kids, dogs in home) and fostering preferences. This is a direct way to save another life. Fosters needed for 1-3 week commitments, often shorter.
