Hurricane Harvey has wreaked havoc in eastern Texas, making landfall three times, leaving in its path destruction and communities under water.

Harvey first struck on Friday, August 25, near Rockport.

It is the nation’s first major, category three or stronger hurricane since Hurricane Wilma struck South Florida in October 2005.

Harvey went from a tropical depression to a major hurricane in 56 hours. It intensified to a category four hurricane with winds up to 130 miles per hour.
