Lake Shamineau at the upper right hand corner of the map is currently 1.9 feet above the Ordinary High Water Level and appears to be continue to rise due to a number of conditions. The lake covers 1600 acres and has no natural outlet. The Lake Shamineau Lake Improvement District wants to pump water out of the lake which is predominately in Morrison County, into County Ditch 41 and Fish Trap Creek in Todd County.
One landowner built a rock wall to attempt to keep the water at bay, but as you can see in the photo, the water is touching the building beyond the wall.
Flooding of the various roads and cap areas around the lake is a problem.

What is the answer to the problem that Lake Shamineau is having with their high water levels?
Representatives from the Lake Shamineau Lake Improvement District met with the Todd County Board of Commissioners during their regular meeting on Tuesday, August 7, to request a resolution of support for additional environmental information via land surveys, water surveys, environmental reviews, permits and petitions.
The presenters were Chairman of the LSLID Bob Koll and Vice Chairman Rick Rosar.
