How did students fare in last year's testing?

    The Minnesota Department of Education released the results of last school year’s MCA/MTAS testing. The following are the results  according to the four levels of achievement (exceeds, meets, partially meets and does not meet) in the areas of math, reading and science based on the number of students who were tested.

Elementary

Math

    Bertha-Hewitt Elementary: Math exceeds 36 (24 percent), meets 60 (40 percent), partially meets 31 (20.7 percent), and does not meet 23 (15.3 percent).

    Browerville: exceeds 28 (17.3 percent), meets 46 (28.4 percent), partially meets 46 (28.4 percent), and 42 (25.9 percent) does not meet.

    Long Prairie-Grey Eagle: exceeds 23 (9.5 percent), meets 56 (23.2 percent), partially meets 70 (29 percent), and 92 (38.2 percent) does not meet. 

    Wadena-Deer Creek (not including 5 and 6 grades): exceeds 26 (16.9 percent), meets 62 (40.3 percent), partially meets 34 (22.1 percent) and 32 (20.8 percent) does not meet.

    Staples-Motley (third grade): exceeds 10 (14.5 percent), meets 22 (31.9 percent), partially meets 16 (23.2 percent), 21 (30.4 percent) does not meet. 

    Verndale: exceeds 29 (16.3 percent), meets 60 (33.7 percent), partially meets 46 (25.8 percent), and 43 (24.2 percent) does not meet. . . .
