A Matter of Perspective
I have been working with my cousin who is a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach as well as a Certified Wellness Coach through the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. She is teaching me about gratitude.
I am learning that an attitude of gratitude can change a lot of things in my life. It can change not only how I think about things, but also how I react to those things. Rather than reacting, I am learning to be prepared to meet things.
One other great thing about the work that my cousin does is that she is known as an authority in many areas of health and wellness. What is so great about that is that she is going to do some guest blogs on my diabetes website. I am very excited about this because I am hoping this will make my site have more authority.
In return for her doing the blog(s), I am going to advertise her training courses on a number of my sites. I believe this is more than fair!
Over the course of the last 20 plus years that I have worked for the newspaper, I am sure that I have written before about the importance of collaboration. I am thrilled that I am actually getting to use this advice big time.
This really gives me a great reason to be grateful.
But what about when things don’t work out?
Being grateful needs to become a way of life. I realize that. Without a spirit of gratitude, things can easily plummet into an attitude of non-gratitude.
I am often ungrateful for things. I don’t know why that is because it certainly wasn’t how I was raised. But on occasion, that attitude of non-gratitude rears its powerful head and I am reminded again of how important it is to be grateful for especially the little things.
Little things can become great things. Gratitude can help make it so.
I’m excited to learn more about gratitude and more about putting others first.
I believe this attitude of gratitude will change my life. I am guessing it could change yours, too.
