Please Take Time To Vote!

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, November 3, Election Day, is almost upon us. Some of you may have already mailed in your ballot...some of you may be waiting to vote in person...but for those of you who don’t think it is all that important, I urge you to practice your civic right.

Regardless of political affiliation, it’s my opinion that if you’re old enough to vote you should do so. In fact, I believe it’s not only an obligation but your duty to do so. I also believe it’s a person’s responsibility to be well informed about all candidates’ views, policies, and proposals.

Over the years there have been many who have been denied the right to vote and many have fought hard to change that over time.

You also have the right to not vote and I am perfectly fine with that. However, without casting a vote I believe you should suppress your opinions and complaints about whoever is elected and the policies that they may or may not set in motion.

Some people are private and may not voice who they voted for while others will shout it from the rooftops and that is their prerogative. Either way, at least you cast a ballot and expressed your beliefs.

For those of you who question what difference does my vote make? It matters a lot!

Over the years my votes have been based on what’s best for me and I can honestly say I have never completely agreed with any one candidate’s views. No matter which party affiliation it seems someone always has something to bring to the table that the others may not be willing to if they believe it is outside their party lines.

So please…take the time to educate yourself, be well informed, and cast a vote!
