Elizabeth LaVoie, a junior at Browerville Public High School, spent the week of March 13-17 at the State Capitol in St. Paul and served as high school page for the Minnesota House of Representatives. LaVoie, whose hometown is Clarissa, assisted in delivering materials in the House Chamber during session, and attended important committee meetings that involved hearings on issues of concern to all Minnesotans. She also met with her legislator Ken Otremba from District 11B.
The Clarissa City Council accepted the resignation of Dick Hahn as assistant manager of the liquor store. According to Mayor Schnettler, Hahn resigned on the condition that he would waive his right to 60 days of employment if the council would lay him off and give him severance pay.

Debbie Gilbertson, Bassoonist, and Alan Behrends, string bass player, will perform with the Minnesota Symphony Orchestra in a number in an afternoon concert on April 2.
The members of the Clarissa American Legion Post 213 have formed a Legion Club which will be located in the Legion Hall, and will be open to the adult public on weekends to serve refreshments and for card playing. The club will be operated by legion members, with Ellis McKindley as supervisor, Gary Hayes as treasurer and Ray Peterson and Gene Watts as directors.
