Some say a happy life is to never stop learning. That means somebody has a lot of teaching to do. Enter Glenn Johnson. Best known for the 22 years he spent in the superintendent’s seat at the Bertha-Hewitt school, but widely respected for his coordination of the Minnesota High School League (MHSL) activities since 1975. Johnson is retiring...again. He’ll officially step down as coordinator of the Sub-section 2, Section 6A MHSL this month, devoting more time to the Lions, Masons and Shriners.

Bertha-Hewitt High School sent a team of four students to participate in the First Annual Area Envirothon. Approximately 180 students from 15 high schools participated in this environmental learning competition. The B-H team, under the supervision of teacher Clay Houselog, was comprised of Gala Schaefer, Tricia Stokes, Jeff Pokorney and Chad Rach. All of them enjoyed the challenge presented by the Envirothon.
