News from Browerville's Past

On August 11, twelve of this season’s cheerleaders attended a one-day clinic held at Moorhead State University. The girls were divided into groups by their expertise. They rotated to various stations that taught them side-line chants, floor cheers, stunts, jumps and a dance. At the end of the day, there was a competition of squads. The Browerville squad, consisting of Nicole Benning, Joyce Kellen, Anne Peterson, Jenna Rieger, Andra Harmanson, Katie Smith and Karla Blommel, brought home the first place trophy for their fine performance. Others in attendance were Sonja Pufpaff, Angie Benning, Jessie Benning, Joan Bueckers and Mindy Belsinger.

The opening day of school will be September 10, a week later than the customary time, as it is believed that the fall work will be somewhat later due to the late growing season. At the current time, the faculty personnel are as follows: Mrs. Pauline Dean, Mrs. Joseph F. John, Miss Dorothy Jane Vitalie, Mr. Glenn Anderson, Tillit Tarnawski and A.S. Blenkush.
