Ivan Gritz and Duane Sweet shook hands and settled a purchase agreement on Thursday to sell Duane “Ivan’s Service Center.” Duane said it all came about after fire destroyed his shop on February 2 and he needed to get back to work. He knew Ivan’s was for sale so it just worked out. Ivan owned the shop the past five and a half years, and will continue to work for Duane, but said he intends to have more spare time to spend with his family and especially his new son Matthew, born January 17. Duane will rename the shop “Duane’s Repair.”
County 4-H’ers took part in a variety of workshops at their County Project Day held at the Long Prairie-Grey Eagle High School on February 2. Eric Gagnon taught horse safety and each participant received a lead rope and instructions on how to make it. Making grape jelly with three different methods enabled Sandy Triebenbach’s members to bring their jelly samples home with them.
