Todd County Board of Commissioners: CUP is questioned, but approved
by Karin L. Nauber
After discussion and the raising of some concerns, the Todd County Board of Commissioners granted a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) for the establishment of a retail greenhouse and sheet metal sales business with conditions.
An application for a CUP to establish the business was received from Joseph J. Bontrager on May 11, 2020. This was reviewed by the Planning Commission during their June 4 meeting and was tabled until the August 6 meeting.
The applicant agreed to table the topic and signed an extension.
During the August meeting, the Planning Commission developed a recommendation of granting the CUP with the following conditions:
1. Placement of six 25 mph speed limit signs at locations requested by the township at the expense of the business owner. Signs must be placed in accordance with all applicable signage requirements.
2. A one-time donation of $5000 to Eagle Valley Township for placement of gravel on access roads to the greenhouse. . . .
