Faulty transformer causes power outage

A power outage occurred on September 12 around 1 p.m. in Verndale that affected approximately 357 customers.
According to Minnesota Power Communications Specialist Kelley Eldien, crews were dispatched to the substation that serves Verndale. They discovered there was a faulty transformer and it had to be replaced.
Power was restored at approximately 6:45 p.m. that evening. The power was out for nearly six hours with 80 plus degree temps outside.
The Verndale School finished out the school day as normal. . . .
