Don't be afraid to try...

Losing weight is hard...

If it were easy, we'd all be at a weight we were comfortable with.

Changing the way and the amount you eat is hard.

Beginning to exercise regularly is hard.

There is no denying these facts.

But it's hard and because it is hard, sometimes we are afraid to try.

Losing weight with a friend or a "new" friend may be the answer for you.

According to an article on Experience Life, Strength in Numbers: The Importance of Fitness Buddies written by Gina Demillo Wagner,

"If there were a way to double your chances for fitness success, would you be interested? How about a technique to make exercise more fun? A tool that automatically creates space and time in your busy schedule for workouts? A proven way to help you out of a rut or through a plateau?

"It may all sound too good to be true, but countless fitness seekers have found that the right workout buddy can do all that and more."

Having a friend to challenge, motivate and hold you accountable may be just what you need to help you get a good start on losing the weight this time.

But you have to put the fear that you might fail behind you.

If you are letting fear keep you from trying, then I implore you to put yourself and your health first.

As a person who is living with type 2 diabetes, I personally understand the struggle. I personally know the defeat of trying so hard to lose weight and not succeeding.

I understand the challenge of keeping weight off once it is lost.

I will do my best to be your fitness buddy.

• I will give you opportunities to exercise with me.

• I will host a weekly class/coaching/support group.

• I will write my blog several times weekly to give you ideas and support.

• I will invite you to our private Facebook group where we can encourage and support each other.

• I will give you challenges throughout the contest where you can win mini contests.

These are my promises to you. Now the ball is in your court.

Yes, this is a weight loss contest, but there is no reason we can't help and encourage each other! It's better that way!
