A Matter of Perspective
It is funny how things can change so quickly...
A few days ago I was waking up to 400-500 blood sugar readings. I know, it was bad.
It still is, but now for the past five days I have been taking insulin and it is down to the low to mid-300s for the past two days.
That is not great, but it is much better than the higher numbers.
If you are a diabetic or know someone who is, I hope that you took note of and read the story about Minnesota approving emergency and other low-cost options for insulin.
This is great news, especially in these times when money is an uncertainty due to the effect of COVID-19 on the economy.
In other news:
• We got a new kitten. Jasmine named her “Zebra,” spelled like zebra, but pronounced like Debra.
She is delightful. She loves to play and cuddle. Our dog likes to try playing with her, too, but he is too rough with her. I told him that he better be careful because she was going to be bigger than him one day and she’ll give him a good whomping!
• We have also gone fishing a couple of times. This is more than I went all of the last three or four years combined. When I was younger I went fishing every chance I got, but I kind of lost interest over the last few years. It felt good to be out and enjoying nature. We took the boat out on Horseshoe and fished off the pier at Adley. It was fun times connecting with the grandkids!
• I have been putting in a lot of time and energy on my diabetes website as well as my grandparents raising grandchildren websites. If you are interested in checking them out, you can e-mail me at: karin@inhnews.com and I will send the links to you.
I hope you all enjoyed your Fourth of July...our Independence Day! (If you are not sure what that means, try reading a little document called The Declaration of Independence.)
