A Matter of Perspective
It will soon be Thanksgiving Day. As the name implies, it is a day for giving thanks.
While sometimes it may seem like there isn’t much to be thankful for, I believe there is always something we can give thanks about.
For example, I have a job (well, several jobs) for which I am extremely thankful.
I have food.
I have a home (we just closed on it!).
I have family and friends who love me and some who even like me!
I have hope...
As bad as things seem to be in this world right now, I still feel hope for better days.
I know they are out there. I am hopeful that these “birthing pains” as referred to in the Bible are making way for those better days.
After a baby is born and the birthing pains are over, a good percentage of the time, it is a day for rejoicing. It is a time of happiness. But those blasted birthing pains have to be gone through first.
I hope that you will find so much to give thanks for this week and coming year. Maybe if we were all just a little more thankful and there was a lot less complaining about the state of the world, the world might just be a better place now!
