While hopes in Long Prairie are high at the prospect of a business coming in to fill the former Hart’s Press/RR Donnelly/LSC Communications building, there is nothing set in stone at this point.

LSC Communications closed the Long Prairie printing operation in March 2018.

According to Long Prairie City Council Member Lilah Gripne, “Right now, there is nothing definite. It will depend on financing and approvals from various agencies. Financing and the approvals are the two big items!”

Long Prairie City Administrator Ted Gray confirmed that there is a party interested in purchasing the building.

At the regular meeting of the Long Prairie City Council on Monday, December 16, the council held a public hearing concerning the submittal of an application to the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) for a grant under the Minnesota Investment Fund (MIF) program.

The city would be requesting approximately $450,000 to assist with the start up of Enterprise-CP. The funds would be used for the creation of jobs. . . .
