Bertha City Council to help finance construction of new Tri-County Hospital

A public hearing was held during the Bertha City Council meeting on November 12 for conduit financing for Tri-County Health Care.

Tri-County Hospital Chief Financial Officer Kim Aagard and President and Chief Executive Officer Joel Beiswenger and Tom Mayfield, with National Healthcare Capital LLC, attended the Bertha City Council meeting on November 12 for the public hearing on conduit financing to fund the construction of the new Tri-County Hospital.

Tom Mayfield, with National Healthcare Capital LLC, Tri-County Hospital Chief Financial Officer Kim Aagard and President and Chief Executive Officer Joel Beiswenger spoke to the city council and answered the public’s questions about the conduit financing and the Bertha Clinic.

Mayfield explained that the financing is approximately $81 million dollars for the construction of the new hospital, work on the current building and debt refinancing.

They have approached the city of Bertha to help them to get tax exempt financing to keep rates low.

“We are looking for a 21st century design, enough capacity to serve the community and surrounding areas. What things cost these days in health care is about as expensive of a building as you can do. That is not a surprising number,” said Mayfield. . . .
