Bertha City Council votes to preserve Bertha Area Wellness Center amid community outcry

The Bertha City Council held a special meeting on February 26 to decide if the city will take over the Bertha Area Wellness Center. Astera Health is set to close it on May 31.
Cost is the main factor in keeping the Wellness Center open. Astera previously stated they lost $25,000 on it last year.
Many concerned citizens attended the meeting, mainly sharing two things: to keep the center because it was affordable to families or give it a chance to succeed....
