Congratulations Graduates 2020
The Verndale School graduated 32 seniors on Saturday, May 23 at Mahlen Field. Seniors and their families parked around the track, stayed in their vehicles and the graduates came out one at a time to receive their diploma. Caden Elbert led the Pledge of Allegiance, Melissa Hammer addressed the senior class and Breanne Malone sang while playing the ukulele. Principal Arick Follingstad announced the winners of the Most Influential Educator award chosen by the senior class: Tom Nelson, elementary, and Tim Fiskum, high school. Instead of tossing their caps, the seniors released green and silver star balloons into the air and then moved their tassels from the right side to the left. They ended with a parade through town escorted by the Verndale Police and Verndale Fire Department. Congratulations Class of 2020. See more photos inside our print issue.
